Hardrick Talks Recruiting

Matt Hardrick of Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater saw his senior season come to an end this past weekend. Now he's turning his attention to passing the college entrance exams as well as focusing more on the recruiting process.

"I need to get an 83 (21) or a 980," Hardrick said. "I'm trying real hard on that. Other than that, I'm just trying to set up my recruiting visits."

Hardrick, 6-5 and 340 pounds, has one scheduled right now and plans on taking two more.

"I'm not going anywhere this weekend so my first visit will be to Florida State on January 7th," he said. "The weekend after that I'll be in Texas for the (Scout.com) All-American Game. Then I'll have two visits left. I'm trying to set them up with Florida, Oklahoma, and Miami."

Right now, however, it looks like the Gators and Sooners will likely get those last two visits.

"Florida (Charlie Strong) has already been in to see me and Oklahoma is setting something up," he said. "Coach Soldinger was supposed to come here last week but he never came. I don't know what happened. I dont know what's up with Miami so it'll probably be Florida and Oklahoma for the other two visits."

Hardrick, who says he's also considering Ole Miss, was at the Miami/Virginia Tech game earlier this month.

"It was a good game," he said. "Miami didn't play too good but everyone has those games. They'll be back because they'll be a better team next year. I met with the coaches. Art Kehoe is a real cool guy. He's real intense and really enjoys his job. I'd like to play for him."

Hardrick favors the Noles at this point.

"It looks real good for them right now but I still wanna take those other visits to see how they compare," he said.
