"It's getting real busy around here," he said. "Coach Fulmer and Coach Bunting were here already this week. Miami and Auburn are supposed to be coming by next week."
At 6-foot-8 and 310 pounds, McNeil visited Tennessee last weekend.
"It was real nice," he said. "It was surprising how much I liked it. I even told people they're my leaders. They told me I'll play tight end."
McNeil, who played tight end 50-percent of the time this season, caught six passes and a touchdown at that position this season.
"I'm going to Auburn this weekend," he said. McNeil was scheduled to visit UM next weekend, but he's had another change of plans.
"I was supposed to visit Miami on December 14, but I couldn't go because of a basketball tournament. And next week is our senior trip. We're going to Mississippi Valley, so I won't be able to go. But I've already talked to them about it and I'm going on February 1 instead. I definitely need to check out Miami before I make any decisions."
So who is the front-runner for this talented lineman?
"Man, it's all even," he said. "I like them all. I've had some great trips, but I might end up going to Auburn or Miami and liking them the best. I won't know for sure where I am going till after my visit to Miami. I'll probably announce it on signing day."
