Pat Watkins Interview

At 6-foot-4 and 198 pounds, Watkins said he got the chance to meet and hang out with a lot of players. So what is the latest and who leads for his services?

"It went real good," he said. "It was straight. I loved the city. There's lots to do there. Being from Tallahassee, it's boring around here, so I liked all the city life at Miami."

At 6-foot-4 and 198 pounds, Watkins said he got the chance to meet and hang out with a lot of players.

"My host was Markese Fitzgerald," he said. "We got to hang out with a lot of them. I like the players there. They work really hard when they have to, and then they know how to have fun during their free time."

Watkins said he had a good meeting with Coach Coker.

"He's basically telling me how much Miami wants me," he said. "He said how I can't go wrong with any decision I make, but they really have a great situation for me there."

Watkins said he will make official visits to Southern Cal this weekend, followed by Georgia on Feb 1. However, it appears to be a two-team race.

"It's 50/50 between Miami and Florida State," he said. "Their football programs are very similar. Florida State just has a younger team. There's a lot more to do in Miami, though. I would have more fun. And Tallahassee is where I live, so that's what they have over Miami right now."

Watkins said he will receive in-home visits from Miami (Coker) and Florida State sometime later this week, but wasn't sure of the exact dates.
