UM Lands 18th Commitment

For months, Carol City defensive back Glenn Sharpe has been heavily favoring the Hurricanes. Well, he finally announced his commitment to the Hurricanes and we have the entire interview as he talks all about it, and even talks about some other Miami commitments.

For the last several months, Miami Carol City defensive back Glenn Sharpe has been favoring the Hurricanes. I remember first watching him in the season opener of 2000 and told people he would play at UM someday. He's a big time defensive back prospect.

"I've verbally committed to Miami," Sharpe said. "The only other one I really considered was N.C. State."

Sharpe talked about the deciding factors that made him pick the Hurricanes.

"Basically, I saw an opportunity there because they lost a lot of guys at my position and I think I can help them early. UM is close to home, they have a great program, good academics, and it's a private school. Everything is there for me to be successful."

At 6-feet and 170 pounds, Sharpe was a first team all-state pick this season.

"I'm taking my trip to UM this weekend with Senorice [Moss]," he said. "I think we have a great future. With guys like Hester, the dude from Tallahassee, Bain, Nook, and Senorice, I think we are having a great recruiting class. The future looks real good and I see us winning many national championships in the future."
