"That game was fun," Houston said. "It was good to see how everyone stacks up against each other. You read and hear a lot about some of the guys but it was finally good to see what they're like on the same field."
Houston, 6-2 and 215 pounds, was asked which players caught his eye during the week.
"Antone, Fred Rouse, and Randy Phillips really stood out to me," he said. "Antone's just so fast and can get the tough yards too. He's gonna be a great back in college. Rouse lived up to the hype. Sometimes you're not sure until you see it for yourself. He's for real. Phillips, I had no idea he was that good. He tore it up out there. He can run, he covers, he hits, everything."
Houston had been scheduled to take visits to both Florida State and Florida later this month. However, that all changed on Tuesday night.
"Coach Shannon from Miami came to my house and watched the national championship game here," he said. "It was fun. We were just talking football the whole time. He was showing me different things. The game was like a scrimmage. It kinda got boring but Coach Shannon was real cool and fun."
After the meeting with Shannon, Houston said there are no more doubts in his mind.
"I'm going to Miami," he said loudly. "I cancelled my visits to Florida State and Florida. I go to Miami on the 21st. That's it. I'm a Cane and I'm signing there next month."
Houston is a full academic qualifier.
