"Everything's going great," Merriweather told me tonight. "I haven't made a final decision yet, but I have it narrowed down to just Miami and Florida."
At 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Merriweather says he's facing a very difficult decision.
"They both have everything I want," he said. "I had a great visits to both places. The football programs are very similar, it's just that Miami has a lot more to do there."
So who holds the upper hand?
"Honestly, I couldn't tell you," he said. "I really like them both and I guess it'll be whoever I like more by signing day."
Merriweather said he recently eliminated two of the schools on his list.
"I went to South Carolina and it was good and all, but very calm and laid back. I took them off my list. And I had a visit set for Florida State, but I cancelled it. I'm only considering Miami and Florida. It'll be out of those two."
Merriweather, a full academic qualifier, is being recruited by Don Soldinger. He said Soldinger made an in-home visit last week, while Florida's Jerry Odom visited him earlier tonight.
