"I'm definitely going to Miami," he said. "I had a great visit. I had the chance to meet a lot of the players and a lot of the coaches. I feel very comfortable there."
At 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, Atkins said he's excited about the future of becoming a Hurricane.
"As you can see, we're putting together a real strong recruiting class," he said. "The players are all saying they are getting back to the championship game next season and I'm excited to be able to help them. I think they'll just keep rollin because they're such a high powered team on both sides of the ball."
