School: Miami (Fla.) Columbus
Size: 6-2 and 210
Speed: He says 4.7
Academics: He claims a 2.7 GPA and no test reported yet.
Age: 209 months
Junior Year: Lowery helped lead a very stingy Columbus defense last season that gave up just seven points per game. He finished the year with 51 tackles, two interceptions, and five caused turnovers.
College Choices: "Right now I like UM, FSU, Georgia, Florida, and Rutgers," he said.
Scholarship Offers: Rutgers
Other Sports: basketball (10 ppg, 11 boards) and track (shot put)
The skinny: Lowery played last season under 200 pounds and was still a force. He was all over the field and looked very impressive at times. He knows how to find the ball in traffic. He's going to play this season in the 6-2, 215 or 220 range, which means he'll have the size you look for in a player at that position. He's a good athlete who is already getting some Div. 1 scholarship offers. He'll be one of the top linebacker prospects in Dade County this coming season.
