What Time Is It? CanesTime!

This spring the staff at CanesTime provided premium articles on all 68 scholarship players currently on the roster. You will have a hard time finding that type of content from any other media organization across the country regardless of school or company.

The five-week project began in the beginning of March and concluded with the spring game last Saturday. A lot of time, effort, and hard work goes into a project like this and it could not have been done without a great staff of writers, the assistance from the UM sports information office, and most importantly the cooperation of the players.

Our goal was to provide readers with quality articles on every scholarship player on the team from seniors Greg Threat, Kelly Jennings, and Eric Winston to rising stars Kyle Wright, Derron Thomas, and Willie Williams.

Don't worry we did not forget about backup kicker Mark Gent or long snapper John Rochford. Every single player was accounted for.

We also provided practice reports including big performances, top plays, and quotes from head coach Larry Coker.

Not only did you get to read what was going on, but you also got a look at your favorite Hurricanes in photo galleries directly from practice.

If that wasn't enough to keep you occupied this spring we provided a weekly analysis on various topics concerning the team.

In less than five weeks we produced over 100 articles on the team this spring. For a complete list of all of the spring article we did, click HERE.

The additions to our staff in the past six months have allowed us to continue our superb coverage of Hurricanes athletics.

David Lake joined the CanesTime staff in October and was tremendous in his coverage this spring.

"Covering the spring football practices was a joy," Lake said. "I can feel an excitement from both the fans and players building for the 2005 season. This year's team has talent at every position that it takes to put together another successful season."

Sean Fitzpatrick was added this spring bringing a great deal of passion and energy to the staff.

"I am glad to be part of an outstanding project," Fitzpatrick said. "Covering every single player was great for the diehard fans who wanted to know what was going on with their favorite players."

Spring practices concluded on April 9 with the spring game at Lockhart Stadium. Following the game we broke down the game from an offensive and defensive standpoint. We also gave a detailed description of each play including formations.

Is that it? Not at all! We will continue to do spring recaps with individual players to give you the latest news with what is going on with the Miami Hurricanes.

Remember to check out CanesTime the Magazine where you will find in-depth articles on football players as well as other Hurricane athletes. You will also find a monthly article by staff writer and 1992 Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta.

Not only will you be able to read Torretta's thoughts in the magazine, but Mike Bakas will keep you updated with football recruiting while Rudy Rodriguez-Chomat continues to be a key contributor to the staff primarily covering men's basketball and baseball. David Hamilton is constantly working hard to produce interesting topics concerning UM athletics and Chris Bello is still providing articles as the voice of the fan.

CanesTime the Magazine and CanesTime.com would not be where it is today without founder Bryan "Grassy" Knoll. His efforts should not go unnoticed as he began the best source for information on the Hurricanes and developing a community of fans that come together from all over the country.
