Chase Prasnicki is a 6-foot-1, and 220 pounds and runs a 4.8 40-yard dash and can bench press 255 pounds and squat 450 pounds. Although Prasnicki possesses impressive numbers in the weight room, the one he's most proud of is his power clean.
"I can do 280 right now, but it's getting better," he said.
He is considering Virginia, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Duke ,and Michigan.
"Right now, academics are really big," Prasnicki claimed.
Prasnicki liked the location of UVA, citing the fact it's only one hour from his home in Lexington. He was also impressed with the academic tradition the school carries. The same goes for Wake Forest and Duke. Prasnicki said he's spoken briefly and informally with some of the coaches.
"With Duke, I'm impressed with the school, but I know I'd probably be getting playing time earlier too."
Prasnicki said he's interested in Tennessee and Michigan because of not only academics, but also the team's prestige.
"They take a lot of pride in their football," he said.
Prasnicki led Rockbridge County to a 9-2 record, but unfortunately, they lost in the first round of the state playoffs. Prasnicki definitely did his part at the quarterback position boasting 1,500 passing yards with 14 touchdowns along with 750 yards on the ground with 10 rushing touchdowns.
Again, Prasnicki was proud of a stat that was overshadowed by his yards and touchdowns. He completed 65% of his passes.
"Pass completion percentage is really important to me right now," he said.
Prasnicki said his goals for next season are to throw for at least 2,500 and rush for 1,000 with 25 total touchdowns.
Prasnicki will be busy this summer attending Nike Camp, Pennsylvania in March along with the UVA, Tennessee, and Wake Forest Team camps this summer. He also plans on attending the Elite 11 camp in Georgia.
Prasnicki is solid student as well as athlete. He has a 3.4 GPA that he says is still climbing since his target schools stress academics. He says his target SAT score is between 1250-1300.
"As far as an athlete, if I get around my target score, it should allow me to have a good shot at those schools."
Growing up, Prasnicki idolized Dan Marino, but was (and still is) a Detroit Lions fan at heart.
"I loved Barry Sanders," he exclaimed.
As far as colleges, Prasnicki liked to watch Florida State University because of their entertaining players.
When he isn't torching defenses for big chunks of yards on the field, Prasnicki enjoys doing it on TV. He said he is an avid X-Box video game player. When asked about his favorite game, he said, "NCAA College Football!"
Besides X-Box, Prasnicki also enjoys pick-up basketball and football games and playing at home with his dog, Rocky.
