Practice Report: 9/3

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Hurricanes practiced for their final time before the 2005 season.

The team practiced for two hours beginning at 8:30 a.m. The practice was closed including media.

"This was a good morning. Normally at a time like this guys are lethargic and sleepy-eyed. But guys came ready to practice today. We covered some finishing touches, mental preparation and situational work. I was really pleased that the guys were into it."

"This is as probably as healthy as I can remember going into a first game."

· WR Sinorice Moss is getting better each day including a one-handed catch yesterday out of the flat. Moss is expected to be used quite a bit on short screens and end-arounds this year.

· OL Derrick Morse has a fracured shoulder. He is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

· RB Andrew Johnson is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered last December. Johnson could be cleared to practice within a month, but it is still unsure whether or not he will play this season or redshirt and come back next year as a sophomore.

· DT Teraz McCray, CB Glenn Sharpe, and CB >Carlos Armour are not practicing and are still recovering from ACL injuries. All three will miss the 2005 season.
