Player Notes on the FSU Game

Player notes following the Miami-Florida State game.

· RB Tyrone Moss eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the fourth time in his career with a 102-yard performance on 23 carries.

· TE Greg Olsen tallied his first 100-yard receiving game with 137 yards on eight catches--also a career-high. Coming into the game Olsen had 16 catches and 275 yards in his career.

· 10 players saw action in their first games as Hurricanes: LB Willie Williams, DT Antonio Dixon, DE Calais Campbell, S Lovon Ponder, S Kenny Phillips, DE Eric Moncur, LB Darryl Sharpton, TE Chris Zellner, RB Derron Thomas, and WR Khalil Jones.

· 3 true freshman played in the game: Dixon, Sharpton, and Phillips.

· OL Tony Tella came in the game during the fourth quarter relieving Andrew Bain at right guard.

· Notable players that did not travel with the team that were not dealing with injuries: CB Tanard Davis, CB Rashaun Jones, RB George Timmons, and OL Dave Howell.

· True freshmen that traveled with the team, but did not play: CB Randy Phillips, LB Spencer Adkins, CB Bruce Johnson, OL A.J. Trump, and OL Reggie Youngblood.

· FS Anthony Reddick and DE Baraka Atkins did not play in the second half due to knee injuries.

· RB Charlie Jones was ejected in the second quater for a personal foul during a punt.

· WR Ryan Moore relieved Hester as the team's punt returner, but did not record a return. In fact Miami only returned one out of the eight punts by FSU.

· QB Kyle Wright was sacked nine times. Prior to the game, the last 207 pass attempts by Miami, FSU had just two sacks.
