Led by a few big time prospects, the defensive end position was the strongest position at this year's camp.
At 6-feet and 195 pounds, Live Oak (Fla) Suwannee running back Lyn Gross will be among the best running back prospects in the state of Florida this season. As a junior last season, Gross rushed for 881 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 399 yards and five touchdowns. Gross also doubles as a linebacker at times, but he will get recruited as a tailback, especially with 4.46 speed.
Gross, who has been timed at 11.2 in the 100m, is also his school's starting point guard in basketball. On a questionnaire, Gross indicates that his early favorites are 1) Florida State, 2) Florida, 3) Miami, 4) Georgia, and 5) Notre Dame. Gross has not yet received any scholarship offers, but he should get plenty during the May evaluation period.
On a side note, Gross is very close friends with current Hurricane Kelly Jennings, who told me Gross will be a Hurricane if he's offered to come. Stay tuned.
