Trailing 16-7 at halftime against North Carolina last week, someone needed to step up and get the team excited.
It was Roger McIntosh who stepped up.
"Roger got us fired up at halftime," defensive end Bryan Pata said. "We needed that little juice to get us going. The game was at noon and some guys might have been a little sleepy. When we came out in the second half, we just dominated."
The Hurricanes went on to score 27 unanswered points en route to a 34-16 victory.
"It was just a little something to get them going," McIntosh said. "We were a little dead in the first half, that's all. I just said a little something in the locker room to fire them up."
It is not a frequent thing for McIntosh or anyone else.
"Usually we aren't in that type of situation," McIntosh said.
When asked if he enjoyed doing it, he responded, "oh it was fun seeing how everyone responded and coming out fighting like we should."
Does he plan on doing it again this week if he needs to?
"Whatever I need to do, I'll do it."
