Safety Sets Visit; Talks About UM

Reshad Jones had high hopes heading into his senior season. The talented safety from Atlanta (Ga.) Washington was hoping his team would make a run at the state title. Unfortunately, his season ended early last week.

"We lost in the first round 21-17," Jones said. "It was a real tough loss, ended our season earlier than I was hoping for. Oh well, you just gotta move on from here."

Reshad Jones, who at 6-1 and 180 led his team in tackles, is now hitting the weights.

"I'm just in the weight room a lot now getting ready for college," he said. "I wanna get a little bigger. I'll run track in the spring. Until then, I gotta figure out where I'm going to college."

Speaking of colleges, Jones continues to get recruited nationally. He has just one visit set up so far.

"I'm going down to Miami on December 16th," he said. "That's my first visit and the only one I have so far. I didn't catch the game Saturday but they dominated. The thing with Miami is they produce. They put guys into the NFL better than anyone. I'm real interested in them right now and I'm looking forward to that visit."

In addition to the Hurricanes, he mentioned five other programs by name that he's still considering right now.

"LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, and UCLA will probably be my other visits," he said. "Georgia's in there too but they're close to home so I probably wont need to take an official visit there. The thing with those four is they all need safeties and they're all recruiting me hard."

The talented safety isn't ready to name a single favorite yet. He wants more time to determine that.

"That's what my visits are for," he said. "They're a lot alike. They all are good programs, they need safeties, and they're coming at me hard. I just wanna find out where I'm gonna be most comfortable."
