"I don't see anyone on the schedule who can slow me down," Parker said at that time. "Nobody. I guess we'll know at the end of the season."
Well, the playoffs have arrived and nobody has come even close. Parker has roughly 950 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. So who gave him problems?
"Nobody," he said. "I read about some people that I thought might but I did my thing. I'm excited for the playoffs. We're focused on winning and I wanna do what I can to help us keep playing."
Preston Parker, 6-0 and 180, has been enjoying the recruiting process in the meantime.
"That's alright," he said. "It's UM, Florida State, and NC State mostly. Maybe Minnesota too."
Parker, who claims offers from all four programs, remains high on the Hurricanes.
"I've been to a few of the home games," he said. "It's a good chance for me to see what things are like on gameday with the coaches and players. Did you see what they did to Virginia Tech? That's what good teams do."
The Noles and Wolfpack are in the thick of things as well. He spoke about those two programs.
"FSU, I've always liked them. Their receivers look good right now. NC State is on me hard. They recruit a lot down here."
The talented receiver, who has not yet scheduled any official visits, made it clear what he's looking for in a program when it comes decision time.
"I just want an opportunity," he said. "If I get one, I think people will be happy with what I got. I ain't trying to sit around and wait. I'm gonna go in and win a job. Somebody just needs to give me a shot."
