Canes to Wear Nike 'Revolution' Jersey

The University of Miami will wear the new Nike 'Revolution' jerseys on Saturday against Georgia Tech.

Miami was supposed to be the first team in the country to wear the new style of jerseys by Nike on October 22, but the game was postponed due to Hurricane Wilma.

Virginia Tech (October 27) and Florida (October 29) have already wore the new style with Oregon wearing a new jersey on Saturday against Oregon State.

"We would have been the first team to have the jerseys, but now it is like we are copying them," said sophomore linebacker Jon Beason. "It kind of takes away from the fun and excitement, but it should still be exciting."

Like many players on the team, Beason doesn't like to copy anybody and he has "his own style".

The Hurricanes will wear green tops with green pants, which is a different look for the 'Canes who typically wear white pants at home.

Miami is well-known for setting trends and Nike likes to use them as the first team to wear something new since they have an elite program and are very marketable on the national level.

In the last home game the Hurricanes wore 1967 throwback uniforms.

Head coach Larry Coker thinks the players will like the jerseys.

"They're good," Coker said. "I like them, but more important, I think the players like them. It's a nice color, a little flash and a little flair. I think they'll like playing in them."
