Thomas finished last season with 92 tackles, 18 sacks, and four caused fumbles.
"We signed Chris Anderson this year to Florida State and I promise that Marcus is better," Coach Burnoski told me. "Every scout that came to see Chris play said the same thing. No one really knows about him because he did not play as a freshman or sophomore. He is a big time prospect."
Big time might be an understatement. With only one year of football under his belt, Thomas is attracting top flight schools from all over the country this spring. In fact, he has already garnered early scholarship offers from Florida State and South Carolina.
Thomas, who also competes in wrestling and track, indicated on a questionnaire that he's really only considering three schools right now - Florida State, Miami, and Georgia.
With 4.85 speed over 40 yards and a 355-pound bench press, Thomas will use his 6-4, 290-pound frame to once again terrorize his opponents this season. I can't wait to watch him in person later this month.
