#1 Kicker in the Country Talks Recruiting

Matt Bosher is Scout.com's No.1 rated kicker in the country. He's a US Army All American. He's a Cane. He talked some about his senior season.

"My senior season went pretty well. I was 7-10 on my field goals with a long of 52 yards. I also had a 44.3 punt yard average and I was 80% on kickoffs for touchbacks. We ended up with a 6-3 record."

Matt Bosher made an early commitment to the University of Miami, and he touched on the reasons why.

"I always have loved the Canes. It felt like the thing to do so I just went ahead and committed."

Mario Cristobal is recruiting Matt. He spoke about his contact with his recruiting coach.

"Coach Cristobal is a really cool guy. He calls me once a week and text messages me every day."

Even though Matt committed early, it hasn't stopped teams from trying to recruit him, especially one school.

"Other coaches call, but I don't take them seriously. There is no changing my mind. The Gators call and have tried to get me to set up a visit, but I'm not interested."

The US Army All American talked about being selected to play in the prestigious game.

"It's a great honor to be selected to play in that game, I am very happy. I never thought I was good enough to play in that game. I can't wait. I also will be playing in the Cali-Florida game."

What are the coaches telling you concerning playing time next year and redshirting, considering the struggles that the Canes have had in the kicking department.

"That is up to the coaches what happens next year. I have to earn what I get, gotta earn my spot. It's Peattie's job, and he's just not going to give it up. Same with Monroe. I have no problem redshirting to get ready for college life and to get stronger."

What do you plan on majoring in at Miami?

"Not quite sure yet, maybe sports agency."
