Fla. RB Having Huge Sr. Season

Emanuel Cook and his Palm Beach Gardens teammates are just two wins away from capturing a state championship.

"Man, it's right around the corner," Cook said. "We're starting to taste it. We have a big game this week and then hopefully we'll be playing for the title next weekend."

Emanuel Cook has done his part. He's rushed for close to 2,000 yards this season and went off on Palm Beach Lakes last week, going for 221 yards and four touchdowns. He continues to emerge as a top notch running back prospect.

"The recruiting stuff is going good," he said. "I'm just trying to maintain focus on our season. The recruiting stuff will still be there."

Having said that, Cook has two more visits lined up after taking one to Ole Miss earlier this year.

"Ole Miss still really sticks out to me right now," he said. "I really enjoyed my visit there and I think they're doing a good job recruiting me. The coaches are cool and I just a real comfortable feeling about them."

The talented running back, who goes 5-9 and 200, is scheduled to visit NC State next weekend as well as South Carolina on January 20. A spot in next weekend's state title game, however, will push the NC State visit back. Rutgers is also scheduled to visit a visit. What about No. 5?

"I'm waiting to see what Miami's gonna do," he said. "They're still evaluating me and making a decision on whether or not to offer me a scholarship. That would be great. I mean, it's Miami. They're close to home and it's a great program. But I'm not gonna wait around. I have some good options at other places."
