"I'm doing OK now," Ellis said. "I'm still struggling but I'll get it done. I just have to step it up. I took (the SAT) again this weekend. It was hard. I liked the old one (without the essay section) better."
Kenrick Ellis, 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, has been spending some time training with the basketball team to get in shape.
"I'm working out with them almost every day," he said. "We're running and I've been lifting and stuff."
On the recruiting front, Ellis is still being recruited by a number of programs. He has two official visits set up.
"I'm going to Tennessee this weekend and then Rutgers next weekend," he said. "Coach Spurrier Jr was in my house and I'm probably gonna set up a visit there too."
The talented defensive tackle prospect said he has a pretty good idea who his final two visits will be to.
"My five visits will probably be Tennessee, Rutgers, South Carolina, Michigan State, and Michigan," he said. "I was hoping to hear from Miami about a visit but they kinda shut me off. I asked Coach Cristobal what's up and why they never offered. He said they need more film and wanted to evaluate me better. I was like 'forget it, I'm done'. I havent heard from them in a few weeks."
