Practice Report: 12/17

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The #10 Hurricanes held an energetic practice before a day off on Sunday.

The team practiced for two hours today beginning at 2:00 p.m.

"This was our last day of focusing on us. We will then start focusing on LSU. We got some good work today. We got some guys better. We had some pretty physical work in and that is the way we are going to have to play to beat LSU."

· WR Ryan Moore is contemplating on whether or not to forego his final year of eligiblity and enter the NFL Draft. The talented receiver has 82 catches for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns in his career. In comparison, Roscoe Parrish (who left early last season) had 81 career receptions for 1,285 yards.

· Moore declined interview requests by reporters, but could talk about his situation next week.

· CB Kelly Jennings was held out of practice today, but did suit up.

· RB Derron Thomas made two extremely nice runs up the middle and bouncing to the outside. He has showed good explosion through the hole and ability to make something out of nothing. On one run he looked to be stopped behind the line of scrimmage for a loss, but showed good patience then bounced it outside for a long gain.

· The team is planning on facing LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russel who suffered a shoulder injury in the SEC Championship Game, but Matt Flynn is a possibility. "I don't think it makes any difference at all in the way we prepare for the game. It does make a difference, but right now we are planning on him playing and if he doesn't then we will adjust."

· FS Anthony Reddick (ACL), CB Glenn Sharpe (ACL), LB Tavares Gooden (shoulder), RB Tyrone Moss, RB George Timmons (leg) and DT Dwayne Hendricks (elbow) are not expected to play in the bowl game.
