"LSU obviously has a great defense. Their D-line is as good or better than anyone we have seen this year. They have a blitzing scheme that will cause a lot of problems like have seen in the games they have played so far this year. The thing that I have seen in our time is when we go against a great team like that our guys seem to really want to battle. I look forward to our guys to play hard and really execute the game plan."
On Devin Hester playing offense and defense…
"We have kind of shared him with the defense. He has moved back and forth and was a two-way player. He is just a great athlete that we have got to get on the field."
Thoughts on the LSU-Georgia game in the SEC Championship…
"When I saw the score and that Georgia put up all those points I got excited. The problem was I was out recruiting for two weeks and didn't get a chance to watch the film. When I got back and watched the film it's not like Georgia was running the ball up and down the field on LSU. They threw an interception for a touchdown, there was a blocked punt, and they got it down there close. They had a couple big plays and other than that, LSU pretty much handled them. The score wasn't really indicative of what happened in the game."
How would you assess Kyle Wright's performance this year?
"I am pleased with how he played this year. He was a first-year guy and played in two tough environments on the road. He drove us down the field against Florida State on the last drive and we should have scored at the end to win the football game. In overtime against Clemson, he made a couple big throws. He has progressed every week since then. I am really happy with the way he has played and we are looking for a great career with him."
On not playing in a BCS bowl game…
"We have been lucky in that we are always thinking about going to a BCS bowl game, but it hasn't happened in the last two years and we have been in the Peach Bowl. The Peach Bowl has done a great job of making it like a BCS bowl game as much as possible. The fact that we played Florida last year and LSU this year. At the beginning of the season if you would have said we would be playing LSU in a bowl game you would probably be thinking we would be playing in a BCS game and that is the way we are going into it. We don't care if it is the Peach Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, or September 2—this is a great football game."
Mindset on offense...
"As always, we go into a game thinking we want to run the ball and control the ball. If they start bringing too many guys up then we will have to hit them with some big plays. Our role is to score points. Hopefully the defense will play the way they have played all year. We have to go into this game thinking we may have to score some points to win the game. I don't like the idea that we going into the game and being conservative. We want to be able to carry our load."
On a win in the bowl game setting a tone for the 2006 season…
"There is no doubt. You look at last year and it was a disappointment for us. To beat Florida in the Peach Bowl it was a jump start for us in the off-season. Guys were excited about getting back to working out. The year before I got here, we had the chance to win the national championship and didn't do it. Then we came back in 2001 on a vengeance. Either way we are going to try to find a positive and motivate ourselves to be the best we can be next year."
On the wide receiver rotation possibly changing with four receivers…
"It won't change at all. We've been lucky because we have had so many receivers rotate in and out. I have seen plenty of teams that have had just two receivers ready to go. We still have 3-4 guys we feel very comfortable with that will play when we get into our three wide receiver sets. Three guys have caught 15-20 balls a piece so we feel very confident with where we are."
