UM Lands WR Commitment

George Robinson first caught the eye of UM's coaches at their camp last summer. The talented receiver then went on to have a strong senior season, in which he had over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns receiving. He took his visit to UM over the weekend and made a commitment.

"Miami's got everything I'm looking for," Robinson said. "They have one of the top football programs every single year. They put guys into the league and they play for championships. The other thing was how they stress academics. Education is real important to Coach Coker. He talked about that from the beginning."

Robinson, 6-feet and 180 pounds, is excited about the possibility of playing early next season.

"We went over the depth chart and it looks good," he said. "We spent a lot of time with Coach CJ. I get along with him really good and he's a good teacher. He was talking about how quiet I am. I told him I'm ready to get to work. The coaches were pretty happy."

Robinson, who will re-take the SAT next Saturday, is excited about becoming part of the Hurricane family.

"It's a great opportunity for me," he said. "I need to get my grades lined up and then I'll be ready. UM is one of the best and I'm pretty happy about it."
