Graig Cooper is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back from Memphis, Tenn. who signed with Miami earlier this month. We took time to ask Graig questions that you might not have heard during the recruiting process.

When did you first start playing football?

"I started playing football at age nine."

Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

"My dad. He is always teaching me. He has told me what is right and what is wrong and has had a big part in making me who I am now."

When did you know you were going to be a major recruit?

"I knew last year after we played a school named Hamilton. I had a good game. I only had about seven carries for four touchdowns and 182-yards."

What made UM different than everyone else?

"They were always real with me and Miami is a fun city"

Which assistant coach was most responsible for recruiting you to Miami?

"Coach Walton"

What other sports do you play?

"I run track and plan on running this spring. I run a 10.5 100-meters."

What jersey number do you plan on wearing at Miami and why?

"I plan on wearing number four."

Do you have any nicknames?

"Coop"

What are your hobbies outside of playing sports?

"I watch a lot of football."

If you were granted one dream in life, what happens in it?

"I just want to have a big impact on a lot of people's lives. I want to have an impact in sports and be successful. I want to make a big name for myself and then help out a lot of kids."
