Talented QB Said UM Liked Him Until...

This talented quarterback prospect is one of the top in the South and said UM was among the several schools ready to offer, until.....

The University of Miami once again appears to be actively recruiting the state of Louisiana and one of its top prospects is quarterback Robert Lane.

At 6-foot-2 ½ and 210 pounds, Lane is also one of the state's top baseball players and that's actually causing some schools to back off.

"I've gotten close to 20 offers to this point," Lane said. "Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Colorado, Florida, and also Ole Miss, those are some of them."

Rumors had been floating around that UM had also offered.

"No," he said. "Miami said they were going to recruit me, but they know I have a chance of going pretty high in the Major League Baseball Draft so they decided not to recruit me. They said they have a lot of interest in me but they've had too many players come to their school and end up leaving for baseball. That's why they decided not to recruit me."

Lane said his top three choices are LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss.
