LB Impressed With UM

Josh Bynes is emerging as one of the top linebacker prospects in the entire state of Florida. At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Bynes will soon be a four-year starter for Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson High School. He talked about his playing style.

"The thing that makes me different than most other linebackers is my ability to read," he said. "When you play linebacker, it's all about experience. The more you play, the quicker you pick up on things. When I come to the line now, I don't think. I just see things and I'm able to go to the ball naturally. It cuts down on my thinking time and I'm able to get the ball quicker."

Josh Bynes finished his junior season with 147 tackles in just 10 games. His top performance came against Ely, when he had 21 tackles, three sacks, and three caused fumbles. As he prepares for his senior season, he's getting lots of recruiting attention.

"I don't have any offers in writing yet but I have five who offered me verball," he said. "FIU, FAU, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Duke have. My top five right now would have to be Miami, Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, and LSU. They're all about even."

Bynes, who plans to attend the Scout.com All-American Combine at FAU on May 13, spoke more about the Hurricanes.

"I have a lot of interest in Miami," he said. "They're right here close to home and they've produced a lot of great linebackers there. I went to Junior Day at UM and saw a lot of pro people there. Miami's a school that I grew up liking. I had a chance to talk to Randy Shannon. We've talked before. He's a real cool guy."
