Local WR/DB High on UM

After making some noise early in his prep career, Alicks Saintil had to sit out his junior season to concentrate on his grades. At 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, Saintil is ready to get back into action.

"I'm ready now," Saintil said. "I'm going to yalls combine and I'm gonna tear it up. Everyone will know me after that. I feel like when I'm playing receiver, nobody can handle me. I'm too big and strong for them."

Lake Worth (Fla.) John I. Leonard coach Brian Coe (whose team will likely have at least four other Division 1 players this coming season) is excited about Alicks Saintil's prospects.

"He has the biggest upside of any player on the team," Coe said. "He is a hitter that comes up full speed to make a tackle."

While it's unclear which position Saintil will end up playing in college, one thing's for sure -- lots of college coaches will have their eyes on him this coming season.

"I don't have any offers yet but I'm getting a lot of letters and stuff like that," he said. "My favorites are UM, Florida State, Florida, and Georgia."

With four schools on his early list, one definitely stands out to him.

"I really like Miami," he said. "That's my hometown. There's nothing like home. My family's close and I really like the coaches. They got a nice situation there."
