Local WR Likes UM

Chris Griffin played for an offensive unit that was rebuilding in 2005. He caught nine passes for 154 yards and one touchdown in eight games in 2005 but expect that production to go way up in 2006. Griffin has plenty of ability.

"I'm real aggressive when the ball's in the air," Griffin said. "I don't wait and I aint scared to go across the middle or to jump in front of anyone to catch it."

Chris Griffin, 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, is currently running track as he prepares for spring football. In the meantime, he's being recruited by several colleges.

"My top five would be Florida, Louisville, Rutgers, South Florida, and Miami," he said. "None have offered yet but they're sending lots of mail and stuff like that."

The Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef standout, who plans on attending the Scout.com All-American Combine in Boca Raton on May 13, went to Junior Day at the University of Miami earlier this month.

"Me and my dad went," he said. "I saw all their athletes run the 40 for the pros. There's lots of intensity among their players. The coaches are really nice and like talking. They seem like good people. I have real high interest in Miami right now. They're known for football and my parents went to UM."
