DE Has Total Package

Jabaal Sheard is coming off an impressive junior season and has all the tools to become one of the state's top defensive line prospects this season.

Jabaal Sheard finished 2005 with 28 tackles and eight sacks.

"I just have the size and the speed to be able to make plays," Sheard said. "I just like playing my position and having fun out there."

The Hollywood Hills standout, who competes in several events during track season including the 200m, is being recruited by a number of schools already.

"No one has offered yet but a lot of schools are talking to me," he said. "I'm talking a lot to Florida and FIU and they both seem real interested. UM came by the school and they're interested. My leaders right now would be UM and Florida and then FIU and Florida State. I have a brother who lives in Tennessee but I wanna stay in Florida."

The talented defensive lineman talked more about the Hurricanes.

"UM's a great program," he said. "It's close to home. UM was my favorite but then they fired a lot of coaches so I wanna see how they can turn things around."

At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Sheard plans on attending the All-American Combine in Boca Raton on May 13.
