"It's the way I read keys," Farrington said of the advantage he has. "Some guys just go but I can read what the tackle is doing and use it to my advantage."
Farrington, 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds, is one of several rising seniors at Homestead High School who will sign a Div. 1 scholarship this coming year. He already has one offer and has several others watching closely.
"Pittsburgh is my only offer right now," he said. "My top five would be UM, NC State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Florida. All of those schools are recruiting me. I get hand-written letters and stuff."
The hometown Hurricanes appear to be his early favorite.
"They're the hometown school and I've liked them since I was little," he said. "It's a great school and they're recruiting me."
Farrington plans on attending the Scout.com All-American Combine on May 13 in Boca Raton.
