Local DL Has UM Offer

Adewale Ojomo plays a rush linebacker position at Hialeah High but projects as a defensive end at the college level.

The talented junior finished his junior season with 40 tackles and seven sacks.

"My athleticism is what makes me different," Ojomo said. "I feel like I'm a complete player and I work very hard."

Adewale Ojomo, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, is Nigerian. His family was born there, although he was born and raised in Miami. He has a cousin who plays defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys. Now it's Ojomo being recruited by a number of college programs.

"I've already been offered by Miami, Pittsburgh, and Ole Miss," he said. "UM wants me to commit now but I'm gonna wait to see. I think UM's a great program -- one of the best in the nation. They play great defense and it's a great opportunity for me."

While the Canes look to be in good shape, don't count out the Gators just yet.

"Florida is recruiting me hard too but they haven't offered," he said. "They send me text messages every morning. Miami and Florida are my two leaders right now."

Ojomo plans on attending the Scout.com All-American Combine on May 13 at FAU.
