CANES TAKE 2 FROM WAKE FOREST
Miami took the first two games of the series against Wake Forest last weekend before dropping the final game 8-5.
In game two, the Hurricanes trailed 7-2, but came back and won 11-10 in 10 innings when 1B Yonder Alonso singled home the game-winning run.
LHP Scott Maine, LHP Manny Miguelez, and RHP Ricky Orta were the weekend starters.
UNF GAME CANCELLED
Tuesday's game against North Florida was cancelled due to travel complications for North Florida and the impending inclement weather expected during the game time.
The game will not be made up.
Senior LHP Andrew Lane was expected to make his first career start in the game.
The Canes begin a 3-game series with Georgia Tech (40-13, 17-11 ACC) on the road tonight at 7:00 with Scott Maine on the mound. UM is currently sixth in the ACC heading into the final weekend of play.
The ACC Tournament begins March 24 in Jacksonville, Fla.
STARTER FOR GAME THREE
With Maine going in game one and RHP Carlos Gutierrez in game two, the third starter has not been determined.
Miguelez and Orta are candidates, but they have struggled recently.
Lane was expected to start on Tuesday and is the likely candidate to start in Saturday's finale assuming they don't have to use him in the first two games of the series.
RHP Marcelo Albir is another candidate to start. Like Lane, Albir has not started this year.
RODRIGUEZ LEADS TEAM
C Eddy Rodriguez leads the team in batting average (.352), slugging percent (.607) and is tied for the team-lead in home runs (8).
Rodriguez, a junior expected to be drafted, hit .320 with eight home runs as a sophomore.
RABEN WITH A STRONG PERFORMANCE
In the second game of the Wake Forest series, LF Dennis Raben was 4-for-5 with four runs batted in as he hit his third home run of the season and added a double.

He rcorded his eighth triple of the season, which is just one away from tieing the single-season UM record.
