In-State LB Claims Offer

Brandon Hicks is coming off an excellent season at Forrest H.S. in Jacksonville.

The talented two-way player finished the year with 220 yards and two scores as a receiver and had 88 tackles and 12 sacks while playing outside linebacker.

"I just love to hit people," Hicks said, "I'm always able to get to the ball and my coach tells people about how I never get tired."

Brandon Hicks, 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, was one of the top linebackers at the All-American Combine in Jacksonville back in March. He's now being recruited by a number of schools to play linebacker.

"A lot of schools have been calling and talking about offering," he said. "The only ones I've gotten in the mail are from Miami and Auburn. My coach got a call from Miami about a month and a half ago and said they were going to offer. I got it in the mail right after that. Miami's a great program but I like 'em all. I never really had a favorite."

In addition to the Canes and Tigers, several other schools are showing interest.

"A lot of coaches have come by the school and stuff," he said. "I get text messages every day from Florida. Auburn's sent a couple. South Carolina and West Virginia have sent them. Right now, my top five would be the three Florida schools, Auburn, and Clemson."
