South Florida OL Talks Recruiting

Emeka Nwankwo, a 6-foot-4 and 285-pound offensive lineman, has emerged as one of the most heavily recruited players in South Florida so far this year. The talented offensive lineman from Chaminade H.S. He provided the latest update.

"I didn't practice the entire month because of a high ankle sprain," Nwankwo said. "It's still swollen. I had it heavily taped and played in the spring game (last Saturday) though. I'm just trying to rest it up now. I don't really feel like going to any camps."

Emeka Nwankwo, 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, has added several more offers. He talked about that.

"I'm up over 20 now," he said. "Since the last time we talked, I've gotten them from schools like Colorado, Rutgers, Arizona State, South Florida, NC State, and Houston. I may be getting one from Notre Dame. They're talking about it. I'd like that a lot."

The talented big man said despite all the new offers -- and not getting one from one of his top schools -- his top five hasn't changed.

"It's still Miami, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and Virginia," he said. "Virginia's making a big push though. I'm starting to like them a lot. Coach Groh told me that I look a lot like D'Brickishaw Ferguson when he was my age. We have the same body type and everything. That was nice hearing that -- it's motivating."

The Hurricanes, a school that's been at the top of his list from the beginning, is still evaluating.

"I'm not really stressing it like I used to," he said. "Coach Cristobal and Coach Coker came out for spring. They're still evaluating I guess. I still like them a lot but they just seem to be a little slower with offering guys."
