Standout OL Plans to Ink With UM

This talented offensive line prospect was impressive at the University of Miami summer camp last month and it resulted in a recent scholarship offer. He talks about why he plans on inking with the Canes next February.

Last week, Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely standout offensive lineman Andrew Bain received in the mail the one scholarship offer that he was hoping for the most. And on Saturday, teammate Cyrim Wimbs got one, too.

"I got the scholarship offer on paper from Miami this past weekend," the talented lineman said. "I'm pretty excited. I told Coach Hargreaves that I'm still favoring Miami but I want to take some of my other visits. They'll probably be Florida State, LSU, UNC, and N.C. State."

The standout lineman also has written offers from a host of others, including all of his favorites except FSU. "They offered both me and Andrew verbally but we haven't gotten it in the mail just yet," he said.

So what are the chances the two teammates remain together in college.

"We've talked a lot about it," he said. "Both of us are leaning to UM and we'll probably both sign there. But right now, we still have some other schools to check out just in case. I know he likes Florida State and Stanford, too."

Wimbs has been busy working hard this summer preparing for a huge senior season.

"We want the state title," he said. "We've been working hard this summer. We life every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then we also do the Randy Moss speed camp a couple days a week."

Wimbs, who is still waiting on SAT scores, said he was happy about the timing of the offer as well.

"I feel as if I must be pretty high on the list because they offered two defensive linemen that were at the camp (Bryan Pata and Dave Howell) and both of them were really good so they must feel I'm that good."

Wimbs said he plans on making his decision after the season. "After we win the state title, I plan on signing with the Hurricanes in February."
