Injury Update: OL Tyrone Byrd

OL Tyrone Byrd updates his status for the Florida State game.

Tyrone Byrd was able to go full speed Thursday while working with the second team. As of Thurdsay, Byrd was not sure who the starter would be at right tackle.

"It is up to Coach Cristobal," Byrd said. "Right now, Jason Fox is doing a real good job at right tackle. I am here to win championships. Whoever is doing the better job, he is going to play.

"Starting is something I want to do, but most importantly I want to win. If one of my teammates is doing better than me, then let them play because I want to win."

Byrd says he feels like he is at about 90 percent healthy heading into the game. The toughest adjustment, he says, has been getting used to playing with a knee brace.

"I wore braces on my knee in high school, so it isn't too much of a difference," Byrd said. "I just have to get used to it. When my legs start to sweat, the braces slide down my leg a little bit, so I just need to get a feel for the braces."
