When Miami has the ball…
RB #34 Charlie Jones vs. LB #7 Buster Davis
Jones (5-10/220) is expected to carry the load for the 'Canes. If he can provide a solid running attack it will open up things down field in the passing game. It all starts with Jones and the offensive line in the runnning. Davis (5-11/245) is FSU's top tackler and will be looking for #34 whenever he touches the ball. Davis will need to get off blocks effectively and make plays as the leader of the defense.
When Florida State has the ball…
FSU receivers vs. CB #4 Glenn Sharpe
The trio of FSU receivers: #5 Chris Davis (6-0/180), #81 De'Cody Fagg (6-3/214), and #89 Greg Carr (6-6/205) will want to stretch the field on the UM defense. The Seminoles have three top-tier weapons and it will be up to Sharpe, the team's top cornerback to shut them down. Sharpe could face all three of the receivers in different situations. He has not played a game in nearly 2 years, but he can't afford to have an adjustment period.
