UM Makes Final Cut For OL

This talented offensive lineman has several scholarship offers from some of the nation's top programs. He recently cut his list down and the Hurricanes made the cut. Check out what he had to say about UM in this interview.

At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall standout offensive lineman Ryan Harris ahs been busy preparing for the start of his senior season ever since returning home from the University of Miami summer camp, which he dominated.

"Things are going really well," Harris said. "You have no idea how excited I am to start the season. We have four of five starters back on the offensive line so I think we'll be real strong up front. We've been working hard all summer trying to gel as a team."

A full academic qualifier, Harris has now gotten 10 scholarship offers.

"Things are getting pretty difficult now with recruiting," he said. "I'm getting a lot of interest and it's only the summer. I've pretty much narrowed things down to six schools but I'd rather not say who those are until I'm able to contact each of the schools and let them know."

So are the Hurricanes on that list?

"Miami's definitely in my top five," he said. "We have a lot of verbal contact going and I'm sure it'll pick up even more when they're able to start calling again next month. I loved Miami. It's beautiful there. There really isn't a whole lot else to say other than I am very high on Miami right now. That's definitely one of the schools I plan on taking an official visit to."

In a July 1 interview with Harris, he told me six other schools that he was interested in at the time - USC, Oregon, Notre Dame, Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Either way, the Hurricanes are definitely in the thick of things.
