Tommy Grady Visiting UM Right Now

Standout California quarterback Tommy Grady is currently visiting the University of Miami. I caught up with the talented signal-caller just before he left last night.

"I'm leaving for Miami tonight," Grady told me last night. "I'll check out Miami then drive to Florida then Florida State. After that, I'll be flying to LSU and Oklahoma before returning home on Friday."

At 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, Grady talked about what he'll be looking for during his string of visits.

"I want to sit in on some meetings and get a feel for what really goes on during the season," he said. "I want to see how each team runs their practices, such as how intense they are and how fun they are. All around, I just want to get a feel for where I feel most comfortable."

So who might the talented quarterback be favoring prior to his visits?

"They're all even right now," he said. "It's an even race right now but I'll know so much more over the next 10 days. After I get back on Friday, I'm going to check out USC and UCLA over the weekend before our practice starts on the 19th."

Grady said he plans on making a decision very soon.

"I'm trying to make a decision before my senior year starts," he said. "Even before practice, I want to have it out of the way. I'll probably make my decision sometime next weekend."

Grady, who has offers from all of his favorites except the Hurricanes, talked about the recent Elite 11 Camp.

"It went pretty good," he said. "I learned a lot of new things and had a chance to meet a lot of real good quarterbacks. Plus I got to spend some more time learning from a great quarterbacks coach in Bob Johnson."
