DL Very High on UM

This standout defensive tackle was very impressed with the University of Miami after he took an unofficial visit there for the UM summer football camp in late June. He discusses where Miami is in his top five currently.

At 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, Ohio standout defensive tackle Sian (pronounced she-on) Cotton had an excellent unofficial visit to Miami.

"I liked Miami a lot," Cotton said. "I learned a lot of new things when I went to Miami. The coaches were great, the facilities were awesome and they just had a great football atmosphere. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it. Plus, my coach (Jay Brophy) played at Miami."

Cotton, who carries a 2.5 core GPA and an 18 ACT score, also attended summer camps at Ohio State, Michigan, and Tennessee.

"I had a real good time at those camps," he said. "Ohio State and Pittsburgh are the two schools that have sent me scholarship offers in the mail. I'm hoping Miami will be one of the next ones. My top five in no order would be Ohio State, Miami, Pittsburgh, Clemson, and Michigan."

The standout defensive tackle was asked about leaving the state of Ohio.

"It wouldn't matter to me," he said. "Ohio State's a great place, but there are other great places out there and I've seen some of them. I'm wide open at this point and will see which schools offer me visits and check those schools out again before I make a decision."
