Hurricanes Prepare For Wednesday Scrimmage

The Miami Hurricanes worked through two more productive practices as preseason two-a-days continued Tuesday at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus. The morning session was the hottest yet as the team worked out under clear skies in temperatures approaching 90 degrees. The afternoon session was another scorcher before thundershowers cooled things off late in the workout.

"We worked today on two-minute offense in lieu of regular team periods and pass under pressure," said head coach Larry Coker after the afternoon practice. "I think we're still trying to find ourselves a little bit, trying to develop a personality, but it was a good day today. We had a little more lively practice this afternoon and that was much needed. Tomorrow we'll go in full pads and it will be interesting to see how it goes. We're going to scrimmage a little bit tomorrow."

Miami has two practices slated for Tuesday, the morning session at 8:30 a.m. and the afternoon workout scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The team will scrimmage during part of the afternoon practice period.

Junior receiver Andre Johnson was held out of contact during both practices on Tuesday while dealing with lingering effects of some muscle cramps and a pulled hamstring muscles suffered on Monday.

Practices are open to the public through Friday, August 16. All workouts are closed to the public beginning Saturday, August 17, with regular media policies (viewing for only the first 30 minutes and final 15 minutes of practice) going into effect at that time.
