Pa. ATH Now Lists UM

This talented prospect is now listing the University of Miami high on his list after he sent his tape to the UM coaches and got positive feedback. He talks about it in this interview.

At 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, Pottstown, Pa. standout quarterback Terrence Shawell is getting real close to being 100-percent from a broken kneecap he suffered last season.

"I'm probably at 80-percent," he said. "I feel pretty good and I should be 100-percent by the start of the season. My mom thinks maybe I should sit out my first gam since it's not a league game. But I'll definitely be ready by game 2."

The talented QB ran a 4.47 shuttle time at the Penn State NIKE Camp back in April, when his knee was probably at 60-percent. "I haven't been tested in the 40 for a while," he said. "When I get to 100-percent, I think I can get a 4.4. I'm ready for the season."

The talented quarterback recently picked up his first scholarship offer. "West Virginia offered me," he said. "They offered me a partial scholarship because of my injury. They said if I get back to 100-percent and have a good year they'll bump it up to a full one. I like them a lot because they do a lot of recruiting in this area."

Shawell talked about some of his other favorites. "I like West Virginia, Indiana, Rutgers, and Syracuse," he said. "Rutgters has a good coaching staff and they're doing a nice job building up that program. Syracuse said they liked my junior tape which was only 3 games and they'll be watching me this year."

A new school has inched its way near the top of Shawell's list. "I also like Miami a lot too now," he said. "They have started to recruit me. Their coach talked to my coach in the spring and asked for a tape. We sent one down and now they keep sending me a bunch of mail and stuff. Miami's a great program. They're championship caliber. I love it there because in order to be a good player you have to be willing to compete and compete hard. They said they want to see tape on my first three games too. I like Miami a lot."

Personally, I think UM is probably recruiting Shawell as an athlete since he only played in three games last season as a quarterback and since it appears UM's quarterback list is down to Kyle Wright and Tommy Grady. This kid ran a 4.47 shuttle time at the NIKE Camp at 60-percent. He's probably a legit 4.45-4.50 kid over 40 yards and that's at 6-4 and 190. He has the frame to be 6-4 and 205 with that type of speed. What position, I'm not sure, but he's a prospect that I wanted to follow up on.
