News and Notes

• Freshman SS Ryan Jackson continues to impress with his defensive ability. Today Jackson showed nice range on a ground ball that was hit toward the gap at shortstop. Jackson got to the ball, stopped, pivoted and threw the speedy Nick Freitas out at first base.

• LHP Eric Erickson led the team in strikeouts today. Erickson got the majority of his strikeouts with a breaking ball that is anywhere from 68-71 MPH.

• Good to see OF Dennis Raben have a productive day at the plate. Raben has been getting good contact on the ball all spring; he has just not been getting the ball into the gaps of the defense. Today Raben pulled the ball for all three of his hits.

• The most impressive stat of the day: all four of the pitchers combined to allow just four walks while facing 60 batters.

• RHP Alex Koronis has a great pickoff move.

• Freshman C Jason Hagerty had his best day defensively this fall. Hagerty made no mistakes in the field; he did not let any pitches get by him.
