At 6-foot-7 and 275 pounds, Somerville, Mass. standout Gosder Cherilus has been working hard gearing up for his senior season ever since his strong performance at the University of Miami summer camp.
"I've been running a lot and lifting a lot," Cherilus said. "We start practice this Monday and it's about time. I can't wait to start hitting again."
A full academic qualifier, Cherilus said his offer sheet is now up around 12.
"I've gotten a few more recently like Syracuse and Rutgers," he said. "The total number is around 12. My top two right now are Boston College and Iowa. They're the two that seem the most interested. I still like Miami, but they don't seem to be as interested."
Cherilus talked more about the Hurricanes.
"I haven't heard much from them so I figure what's the point even considering them anymore," he said. "If Miami offered that would be great and Coach Kehoe told me they'll be watching how offensive linemen do in their senior seasons, but they don't even communicate with me. Hopefully I'll impress them this season. If they keep recruiting me when coaches can call again next month, I'll still consider them, of course."
