RB Still High on UM

This standout running back did not attend any summer camps, instead focusing on working out with teammates to prepare for the upcoming season. He updates us on what schools he is considering and what his feelings are toward playing for the Hurricanes in this interview.

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Apopka, Fla. standout running back Alan Abrams said he's glad the season is finally here.

"It seems like forever since the end of last season," Abrams said of the team's state title run of a year ago. "We have a lot of players out this year and we had our first scrimmage on Friday. Things are looking pretty good. We're playing Rockledge (defending Class 3A state champs) next Friday."

Abrams said he hasn't really given recruiting much thought as of late.

"I didn't even go to any summer camps," Abrams said. "I've pretty much stayed here and worked out with my teammates. We're ready to repeat."

However, college coaches have been giving Abrams a lot of thought.

"I have four offers right now," he said. "They are from LSU, Purdue, Indiana, and South Carolina. I'm still considering those four plus Miami, Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee. I haven't even narrowed things down yet. When schools start calling again next month that's when I'll start to narrow it down to a smaller list."

The talented, who denies any one favorite right now, talked about the Hurricanes.

"Miami's straight," he said. "They have a great program. They haven't offered me yet so I'm hoping to do well enough this season that they will offer. Miami's one of the places I plan on checking out for a visit after the season."
