"I've just been chillin ever since the season ended," Nicolas said. "I went for my second visit to Central Florida and it was real good. I felt at home. They showed us the campus and I talked to the coaches about playing time and everything. They're building a new football stadium and a basketball arena and everyone is real excited about that. I enjoyed myself and plus, it's not too far from home."
Nicolas, 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, had previously visited Arizona State and plans on heading north the next two weekends.
"I'm leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow (Friday)," he said. "Then next week, I'll be going to Rutgers. My last visit will be to Miami sometime in January."
The talented defensive back said the coaching situation at Miami never had him concerned.
"I've been talking to the assistants all along," he said. "Coach Walton keeps me updated."
With Randy Shannon being named head coach, Nicolas is excited of the news.
"I was always with UM," he said. "Now they're even higher on my list. Coach Shannon's a great coach."
The talented safety prospect has good news on the academic front as well.
"I got my SAT scores back and I got an 850," he said. "On the ACT, I got a 19. Right now, I have a 2.57 core (GPA) so I'm all ready to go."
