Olsen Leaving Early?

Tight end Greg Olsen gives an update on whether or not he will return for his senior season.

Greg Olsen leads the team with 38 receptions and is second with 444 yards.

He was named first-team All-ACC after this season giving him even more of a reason to leave for the NFL Draft.

However, Olsen told reporters earlier today:

"I haven't made any decision and I am just going to wait until after the season is over to consider it to see what is out there."

Olsen, a fourth-year player, graduated on Thursday which should give him even more of a reason to leave for the draft.

"Getting your degree is great regardless," Olsen said. That was something I wanted to as quickly as possible for my own benefit."

Olsen said he has not filed his paperwork to the NFL College Advistory Committee to see where he stands in the draft.

Just because he hasn't filed doesn't mean he isn't interested. He has a very good understanding of where he will be drafted regardless of what the committee says.

When asked if the coaching situation would play into his decision, he responded:

"Obviously I'm not happy, but they kept coach Shannon which was great. Obviously no one wants to see a guy like coach Coker get released. But what is done is done. As difficult of a situation that is was, we just have to move on. We are happy for coach Shannon. He has been a long-time great defensive coordinator and I think he is going to do some good things."

Although Olsen was tight-lipped about his status to reporters on Friday, we still believe Olsen will be leaving for the NFL Draft and look for him to publicly announce his decision following the Dec. 31 bowl game.
