Monday Morning -- The Latest

A lot is happening on the recruiting front for the Hurricanes the next few days will tell a lot. Lets break it down.

Quarterbacks -- Robert Marve is done. The only other option available right now is Cannon Smith, who visited here this past weekend. His phone was off all day yesterday so I wasn't able to get through for an interview but I really dont think he left with an offer.

Running Backs -- Charlie Jones will be a senior. Kylan Robinson's high school coach told me a few days ago that he considered transferring to South Carolina. Andrew Johnson has already left school. Tyrone Moss is gone. We need some bodies here and Graig Cooper is a really good start. I really believe Shawnbrey McNeal will be used primarily as a return specialist, sort of the way Devin Hester was used here. That turned out OK for Devin. Lee Chambers will likely sign with Miami on Wednesday and the coaches are very excited about him. He still has a little core (GPA) work to do but he should be fine.

Wide Receivers -- Kayne Farquharson's already signed and will start school in the summer, as long as he passes his classes at Miami Dade CC. Leonard Hankerson is committed and re-took the test last week so hopefully he'll get the necessary score. Jermaine McKenzie is just 1 point short and should be OK. Daniel Adderley is done and qualified. Tarus McKinley looks like he'll be spending some time at a Prep School before playing at UM (or wherever he goes). The major target left here is Deonte Thompson. He'll be a signing day announcement and I dont think anyone really knows for sure what he's going to do. If UM feels like they got him, he'll round out this WR class. If not, they'll likely offer O'Neal Wilder, who visited here this past weekend.

Tight Ends: They'd like to get one but I dont know of any options right now, unless they plan on bulking up Adderley and switching him there.

Offensive Linemen: Harland Gunn and Orlando Franklin are done. When I called Franklin's home, his mother told me he's spending a few more days in Miami. "He loves it there," she said. Tyler Horn committed over the weekend. That's three that we needed but there's a 4th player involved. He's a Juco kid who may ink with UM on Wednesday.

Defensive Linemen: Adewale Ojomo and Chris Perry are committed. Kerry Murphy has a 1 PM presser set up on Tuesday and I fully expect him to announce for Miami. He will likely have to spend a semester at a Prep School before starting at UM, however.

Linebackers: Allen Bailey is the big name left. He could announce at anytime and I still believe it'll be for the Hurricanes. Charles Clay will likely go public with his commitment either today or tomorrow.

Defensive Backs: Damien Berry and Jared Campbell are committed. Doug Wiggins is already enrolled in school. The two key targets left are DVD and JoJo Nicolas -- both of whom I expect to ink with Miami on Wednesday.
