Standout LB Plans to Visit UM

This standout linebacker is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state this year. One more school has been added to the mix and it is the Miami Hurricanes.

At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Hampton (Va.) Phoebus standout linebacker Xavier Adibi is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state this year. One more school has been added to the mix.

"I'm pretty much looking at the same schools as before," Adibi said. "But now Miami is one of my favorites. I guess they got my tape over the summer and they started sending me letters telling me about their school, saying how they like me, and telling me they'll be calling me in September."

So have the Hurricanes called the talented linebacker yet?

"I actually missed a bunch of calls on Sunday because I went to the [Virginia] Tech game," he said. "Miami may have been one of them but I'll get a chance to talk to them later in the week hopefully. They have a great program. I mean, they're No. 1. I'm hoping to take a trip down there to learn more about them."

Adibi talked to coaches from Virginia Tech, Colorado, and Georgia on Monday.

"I still like Tech, Maryland, N.C. State, Miami, Georgia, and Tennessee," he said. "They're all even right now. Some people think just because my brother [Nathaniel] plays at Tech that I'll go there. That's not true. I have to make my own decision. I'll take my visits then make a decision after the season."

The standout linebacker, who carries a 2.9 GPA and is still waiting on SAT scores to return, has written offers from three of his six favorites - Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Tennessee.
